Day 032

The working out is really paying off. I feel healthier. I feel stronger. I have more energy. I've lost a little weight. It's painful, but it's good. I'm really looking forward to meeting my goal of being 175lbs again, though that is a ways off.

The reading of god's Word is still sporadic, though getting much better. Meeting with Mark has helped, though we've only had one real meeting. I'm now in 2 Thessalonians. I'm still reading a Proverb a day when I do read, and I've been trying to stay on Philippians 2.

Financially, things are a struggle. But God answers prayer. Scott called me into his office the other day to tell me that he's making some schedule changes for the month of February to help speed up the transition form our current server to our new one. This means I get a guaranteed 10 hours of overtime for the next four weeks, some times more. God is really blessing my family and I.

Patty.

Day 026

Worked out today. It sucked, but at the same time, it made me feel really good.

Melissa stared reading Dave Ramsey's The Total Money Makeover. No matter your money situation, I suggest you read this book. It's pretty enlightening. Melissa and I are going to start the process in the next few weeks. I'm guessing here, but I figure that if we stick to the plan, we'll be debt free (except our home mortgage) in two years time. But we'll see about that.

Mark and I are going to meet for the second time on Wednesday morning.

Continue to pray for me.

Day023

On Wednesday, I had my first discipleship meeting with Mark Driver. It's a learning experience for us both. I'm pretty excited to see what God does in my life through Mark, and vice versa.

I've started reading Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover. It's really good. I recommend everyone read it, even if you're money is "under control".

I haven't weighed myself in a while, but the last time I did I had shed about 3lbs. Go me.

I'm still reading Philippians 2. I've added reading a chapter of Proverbs everyday. Whatever day of the month it is, that's the chapter I read.

Day 016

Six day gap. Yuck.

I haven't read in a day or two. But I have read since my last posting.I'm going to start trying to memorize the passage over the next week or so. I don't see the point in reading something if I'm not going to remember what I read. Check back for more on that in the coming days.

I'm on day 8 of the workout. It doesn't hurt near as much as it did the first two days. It's frustrating, though. The muscle mass that is being generated is canceling out the weight loss. I know that that's normal, but it doesn't make it any less annoying.

I need a nap today. Everyone who reads this should text my wife and tell her to let me sleep.

Day 010

I seem to have a gap in my time spent on here.

Rest assured, I have been on top of my other activities. Melissa and I purchased a small pilates kick with one of those wicked cool gigantic balls and two 2lb weighted balls. Today is day three of the routine. My muscles burn. I've also downloaded RunKeeper for Android. It's also available for iPhone. I'm sure Windows Phone and Blackberry aren't far behind. RunKeeper post directly to my facebook and Twitter, so I likely won't be regurgitating what I did with it here on a regular basis. My weight hasn't moved much, but these things take time.

I still haven't remedied the brain training problem. I should just find a free sudoku for Android or online, but I haven't done so yet. I still hope to grab a copy of Brain Age, but things like that cost money.

Last night I read my Philippians passage and talked about it with Melissa. It's amazing how two people can read the same passage and walk away with different things. Not conflicting things, just different. Melissa says that verse 3-4, which talk about doing everything selflessly sticks out to her. I, on the other hand, am amazed by the latter portion from 5-11. God loves us even though we are nothing compared to him. As my friend, Louis Brenton, once said, "You have more in common with a cockroach than you have with God." That about sums it up.

Day 007

I did my WiiFit. I was in a  hurry so I didn't note my weight. All I know is that I gained form yesterday. Not much, but still a gain.

I had a lovely pasta with sauce and a salad that Melisa made for lunch. So far I've consumed 64oz of water. I'm on track to down another 32oz. I'm rather proud of that fact, actually.

I read, but was distracted by some things. I got them taken care of. Tomorrow should be better.

Day 006

For the first time in 400 some odd days I did some WiiFit. Oddly, I improved in every area except my weight. I ate some Papa John's pizza last night. Well, I ate half of a large pizza. Shut up.

I read my passage today. I wasn't really in it. I understand that this takes time getting back into the swing of things, but I am disappointed that I didn't come away from my reading time with anything more than feeling a bit better. Even if I'm not all there at the time, I do notice a difference in my attitude throughout the day versus days when I don't.

Thanks for having patients with me, folks.

Day 004a

I've been sick these last few days. I've put on a bold face and pushed through, but today it's coming on pretty strong. All changing of eating and exercising habits will be on hold until I get through this. I'll still be reading my passage later today and will post it when I do.
